Port Weller is an interesting little place.  It’s just a couple of square miles in St. Catharines and while most locals can’t really tell you where it starts and where it ends they can tell you it’s the beginning of the Welland canal, and home to the ship yard.  Everyday ships and sailors from around the world pass through this tiny place and get a glimpse of Jones beach or a little smell of peach blossoms.  Below are some pictures of Port Weller – if you have any of your own please pass them on we’d love to post them here.
– Arial view of the protective headlands from Lake Ontario
– Arriving at the coast guard station
 – Launch of the Scott Misener – one of many over the years
– The famous USS Littlerock transiting the Canal in 1977
– Municipal Beach is always ready for stroll or a bon fire
– The dry dock – been through boom and bust
